Scroll down to read his recollections from those heady days.   1991-Apr-22 - Chapel Hill, NC - Cats Cradle (c) Tom Poston 1991-Oct-09 - London - Tabernacle (c) Tom Poston 1991-Oct-10 - London - Polytechnic (c) Tom Poston        I got to meet Lush and Ride in Chapel Hill in spring 1991 when they were loitering around after the show, and made enough of an impression that Miki remembered me six months later in London (which helped get me into a sold-out show!)      In one week in Britain in October 1991 I saw Lush (twice), with opening bands Stereolab, Gallon Drunk, St. Etienne, and Soul Family Sensation, then Cranes (twice) with opening band Moonshake, an all night rave with Orbital, The Shamen, and others, Slowdive with openers Faith Over Reason, and Catherine Wheel with opening band Revolver (headliner was supposed to be Chapterhouse but they cancelled). Never could have pulled that off without the late, lamented Melody Maker...      Connected enough with Lush to get invited to their afterparties, and with Cranes enough to arrange an interview in Portsmouth UK five months later and toured with them as the opened for The Cure across the US a few months later.
